What’s on the Chopping Block?

I am not a foreigner to the cutting board, matter of fact, it is the most used object in my kitchen. And, I feel naked making a meal without it. Just the simple task of pulling it down inspires me to eat the rainbow (no, I am not referring to Skittles candy). It keeps me focused on eating healthier, as well as, encouraging and challenging me to pay attention to what I am putting in my body.

Today, fresh strawberries, blueberries, spinach, yellow pepper, and mushrooms adorn the board, looking mighty gorgeous might I say, while I prepped my omelette for assimilation. One by one adding more vibrant color to the collective whole.

While it really wasn’t the board or what it does to me that made this task unusual, it was putting everything on the board, like a child lining up her crayons admiring the arrangement. Usually, I chop, swipe, and repeat until everything is ready to cook, devour it, then think in the aftermath, “I should’ve taken a picture.”

      Thank you Tina.

  2. I have 6 cutting boards in my Kitchen, ranging from medium to large. I dispense with small cutting boards, lol. Sometimes, they ALL get used in a single meal. Funny thing is, I would probably buy another 2-3, I want the in between sizes, ha ha ha. Probably stems back when I used to cook for a living in restaurants and cafes.
