Naked I sit upon stripped sheets and pillow cases, recanting the blur from what I believe to be yesterday, while the stench from last nights sweat clings to me.
Aches deep within my carcass screamed within each passing hour, while symptom after symptom restlessly begged for relief. And though my dwelling mind tried to push through pain, with positive thoughts, the bug won the battle.
2:10 a.m. A dark room stares back at me, while a broken fever adheres to my every movement in the sauna that I’ve created. Twelve hours my body still aches in the same spot it’s lain since this all started. Rotating my eyes, I look around the dark room watching it become darker, succumbing to sleep once again.
7:30 a.m. God breathed life into limp, cleansing me of pain, just as sunlight illuminated my four walls.
I am alive!
Your imagery is powerful. ♥
Thank you Lauren. I enjoy writing from the perspective of in the moment.
