Late night sleeps on couches, drifting between dreams until light awakens them, while crystal water shapes feather from grey clouds upon the frozen earth, leaving us home bound for a day.
The snow says, “Come play” yet desiring to remain warm, we nestle into our own activities. A silent hush settles over the house as we become lost in our own utopias. Whispers in the distance draw my attention away. Stepping lightly from room to room, I witness a tender moment, my eldest niece teaching the youngest how to read. Retreating back to get my iPhone, I stealthily return to video their existence.
