A Home of Love

IMG_0412

Home, a place where you are determined to defeat brokenness that plague your earthly existence that you have been trying hard to leave behind for purpose of doing better, in search of a more desirable love. You are on the fence and struggle to trust or have faith in what you can’t see. You are hurt or are hurting wishing you could be plucked into something different. You’ve tried every earthly change, but nothing moves you the way you want to move. You are afraid, but you will never verbalize it to anyone because you feel it will make you weak, even though you are weak. You are lost, though you have a map. You are waiting for someone to reach out to you and bring you into the fold of love.

What if I told you there is a place, a Home, where you can lay your head, to rest your feet, and build the love you so desire; where comfort and warmth welcome you and where love abundantly rejoices, corrects, and encourages. You learn wisdom and knowledge; it changes your daily life. A place where you slowly find the love you have craved and starved yourself for so long. A Home where the walls you built up are no longer needed. And a Truth so strong, you become iron that sharpens iron. You are sought out by a family where, together we glory in our sufferings, because we know that suffering produces perseverance; perseverance, character; and character, hope. (Romans 5:3-4)

You are waiting to be asked because you are too afraid to go alone to this place I just told you about, you desire, yet you doubt. Your hand is still on the fence where you know your comfort to reside. You’ve already researched His house, yet His guests at one point or another have turned you away. Though, despite the guest, He continues to invite you to come as you are, to create an everlasting bond only between the two of you. What you don’t know is that his guests, much like you, are forming a relationship with Him too. They are learning to be humble, loving, joyful, forbearing, kind, good, faithful, gentle, and self-controlled (Galatians 5:22). In time my friend, this Home you so desire, you will walk side by side with those who shunned you, helping them to become better than what the world says they are, giving them an invitation for more, showing them what kind of true Home that welcomes them into an eternity of love; where instead of fighting off wolves that try to entice and devour our souls, we will be singing Holy, Holy, Holy is the Lord God Almighty.
